A First Look at the 2024 Volkswagen Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport
Volkswagen introduced the 2024 Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport at the Chicago Auto Show. These models have been refreshed with subtle changes that make the SUVs stand out even more.
A More Luxurious Cabin
Upgrades to the cabin create a more relaxing space with premium materials and a leatherette-trimmed dash and center console. The same door treatment for the front row is found in the second row. Ambient lighting contains 30 hues to choose from with a backlit dash that sports the model name. Leather seats include a diamond pattern on the top trims.
Previous upgrades are now standard in the 2024 Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport, such as ventilated front seats and a heated steering wheel that comes with shift paddles. Easily adjust the passenger seat by height now while Climatronic automatic climate control and Voice Control are also standard. The center console has been redesigned to include more storage with a cubby underneath.
Enhanced Innovation
The 12-inch floating display enhances the elegance of the cabin while providing convenient information and entertainment. Keep track of vehicle information with the 10.25-inch Volkswagen Digital Cockpit Pro, which is completely configurable. Wireless App-Connect makes connecting your device easier than ever while wireless charging does away with the need for tangled cords. Passengers will find it easier to get connected with six USB-C ports for fast charging.
Technology improves safety with the Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport. IQ.DRIVE driver assistance provides semi-automatic driving capability, which is standard on the new models. This feature keeps you centered in the lane while Adaptive Cruise Control is an available system to keep the vehicle at a safe distance from others.
Updates the Exterior
While this model year isn’t a complete change, it does offer some updates. A new front end makes it easier to tell the Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport apart. Adaptive Front Lighting System is standard on both models with Daytime Running Lights wrapping around the headlights on all but the base trim. The front fascia has also been updated on both models. The Cross Sport includes grille details in gloss black with the X design element stretched across the entire lower fascia.
Both models include a spoiler, which adds to the length of the roofline. The VW logo sits between the LED taillights. The rear diffuser for the Atlas Cross Sport has a more aggressive design than before. New wheel designs are found on all trims with the R-line getting a 21-inch aluminum-alloy wheel and gloss-black grille.
Premium Power
Powering the 2024 Atlas line is a four-cylinder turbocharged TSI engine with 269 horsepower and 273 lb.-ft of torque. This new engine has more torque with faster acceleration. 4Motion all-wheel drive is available across the line.
