Volkswagen Welcomes the Golf GTI 40th Anniversary Edition to North America

Volkswagen is producing the 2023 Golf GTI 40th Anniversary Edition to celebrate four decades of this model for buyers in North America. Only a select few of these special models will be available, half with a six-speed manual transmission and the other half with the seven-speed DSG automatic.

The Golf hatch was first introduced in 1983 as the Rabbit GTI. The model is still going strong, eight generations later with advances in technology to reflect current buyer needs. The 40th Anniversary Edition boasts a touch of heritage combined with modern design.

Decals with the number 40 are placed along the door sills with an illuminated grille and red stripe. Gloss black 19-inch wheels feature red pinstripe accents for a distinct look. Buyers can choose from four colors for the Golf GTI 40th Anniversary Edition. Tornado Red is a classic shade with Urano Grey as a unique hue for this special edition. The other two choices include Opal White Pearl and Pomelo Yellow Metallic. Contrasting these vivid hues is a black roof, which is an exclusive to this edition. Gloss black mirror caps add drama to the design, making it stand out even more.

Unique design continues inside the 2023 Volkswagen Golf FTI 40th Anniversary Edition. You’ll find the “40” on a clasp on the steering wheel at the six o’clock position. Honeycomb accents provide a traditional touch with a manual shift knob that looks like a golf ball. Scalepaper Plaid cloth seats enhance the retro image.
